Pink Eye Common Remedy

What it is: Pink eye is redness and swelling of the eye tissue lining your eye lid and eye. It is very common easily spread from person to person, usually is not serious and goes away in 7 to 10 days. It is caused by either a virus, or bacteria.

Treatment: Since viruses do not have medical treatments prevention to spread the sickness is best while the body’s own immune system fights off the virus. Wash your hands often or after you touch your face EVERYTIME. Hand sanitizer works well if you are not close to a sink. Just be sure that your hands are dry of the sanitizer before you touch your eyes. Disinfect all surfaces to prevent re-infection. When you wake and there is a hardened mucus that has sealed the eye shut, wash with warm clean water. Wash your hands after. If the problem lasts longer than 2 weeks or gets worse call your doctor.
